Gastronomiccalendar
Every September 15, the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Campo de Borja celebrates its Harvest Festival in Ainzón. Originally, it was a more popular celebration, and in recent editions it has taken on a more institutional spirit. The objective is to enhance the vine and wine as a characteristic product of this region and one of its main economic resources as well as a tourist attraction. After the speeches, the first “must” of the year is trodden in front of the public.
San Miguel Arcángel has great influence on the gastronomic celebrations of the Aragonese people.
In Castiello de Jaca. For this festivity, a meal is celebrated for all the people based on carne a la pastora.
In Arguís. They are accustomed to celebrate a popular meal for all the people in the square on this day.
In Montmesa. Here they light bonfires in which they roast sausages. The next day the party continues in the hermitage of Nuestra Señora del Turrullón and there is a distribution of cake and wine among the attendees.
In Vicién. The town celebrates a great popular dinner.
In Estiche de Cinca. They organize dances and popular meals.
In Belver de Cinca. There is food and dancing.
In Barluenga, the neighbors honor San Miguel with a socializing dinner.
In Graus. They hold a fair.
Blessed Bread in Torrecilla De Alcañiz. On the celebration of these festivities of San Miguel, the residents from the town of Torrecilla de Alcañiz in Teruel wear their regional clothes, celebrate a sung mass and distribute the blessed bread.
